Just a collection of my first aquatints based on the theme of 'Organisms and Processes'. I chose cell diversification/multiplication.
The imagery is corny, but I just needed something to show off my 'skillz'. Elongated bodies and dorky looking cells are good for doing this, it seems.
Techniques: aquatint with a mix of bitumin and permanent marker acting as stop-out. I used a bit of drypoint to add to the plate once it was bitten.
The two-toned one [orange/blue] was some using a sheet of acetate with a thin orange ink-layer. The two-colour [mixed] one was me being ungodly and using two inks on one plate.
All done on A4 sized watercolour paper. [Fabriano No. 5 and Daler Rowney Aquarell]
